MySQL installation issues

Recent MySQL installations might fail with an error. Please try one of the following.

Possible issue: MySQL installer needs to be updated

  1. Go go Start menu and start “MySQL Installer - Community”
  2. If you see the message “Mandatory MySQL Installer Upgrade Available”, you must select Yes to update it
  3. After the installer restarts, and it asks you what to do next (such as a “Choosing a setup type”), close the installer
  4. Retry installation via the BBT setup guide
